Our client had undertaken a renovation of the interior of the house three years ago, and now wants to address the exterior cladding. The interior is very contemporary, but with a rich use of materials, and he wanted the outside of the house to reflect those qualities. At the same time, our client did not want to make substantive changes to the existing structure of the house. Our design solution involved replacing the stucco with a stone veneer, widening the front stairway, adding a warm wood finish to the exterior doors and windows, and creating a new wooden awning. These wood details and new entrance also provide relief to the front façade, improving the sense of entry and address. We illustrated our proposal with both technical drawings and a colour rendering.
