Our client lives in a house in the St. Clair and Bathurst area.  He also has three apartments in the house, and each year he spends a certain amount of money just on upkeep.  This year he decided that he wanted to do something that he and his tenants could actually see and enjoy.   For the front of the house, we have suggested a simple re-cladding of the 2nd floor bump-out as well as replacing the guard and handrails and finishes of the front porch with something more handsome and inviting.  We’re also making a subtle change to the front steps to orient the view more towards the front garden.  We have also proposed two new pathways to lead tenants and visitors to the apartment entrances at the side of the house, and to allow for the easy transport of the City garbage and recyling bins to the curb.  We are putting in concrete retaining walls (complete with built-in lighting) to create berms that will serve as planting beds, and also subsidiary mulch paths.  A custom bench will allow tenants and visitors to relax and enjoy the view of the garden.
